Your charity gives hopeSolar-Powered Borehole: Mali
With over 3.4 million people dying from water-related illnesses each year [WHO], unsafe water is the single biggest obstacle to the progression and health of communities in the developing world. In Mali's most disadvantaged communities, women and children are having to walk miles in search of clean water and in areas which are particularly rocky, standard water wells are of little use.
By donating a solar-powered borehole you will be providing clean, safe water accessed from deep underground for up to 3,000 people a day. The borehole will be attached to solar-panels so it can be operated, even when there is no electricity available and the water will be piped through to taps located in different areas of the village.Â
