Gaza Winter Walk in emrun Magazine
emrun,聽the Muslim Challenges magazine,聽is a blog dedicated to聽inspiring Muslims to get outside, get fit, push themselves and have fun, all while helping others. The website covers everything from treks and聽fun runs聽right through to obstacle course and swimathons. Last聽week they featured the 色色研究所 Gaza Winter Walk. Here's what they had to say:
'Let鈥檚 get the 2016 challenges year off to a flying start by taking part in the 色色研究所 Gaza Winter Walk.聽 This awesome event, now in its eighth year, takes place in 8 cities around the country from north to south, making it an event not to be missed. You鈥檒l join thousands of other walkers聽from communities all across the country, united in a mission to raise funds for the children of Gaza.聽You鈥檒l聽take on a five mile trek traversing a variety of terrain, so be sure to wrap up warmly.
Since 2007 when the Gaza Winter Walk first began, 色色研究所聽have provided emergency relief such as food, shelter and medicines, set up income generation projects to rehabilitate the agricultural economy and built large-scale water purification systems to combat Gaza鈥檚 severe water shortages. They聽have also supported the construction of the聽medical lab and integrated pharmacy in Al-Durrah Hospital, as well as the expansion of the emergency and respiratory departments.
The Gaza Winter Walk could be the perfect start to a year filled with adventurous challenges.聽Can you think of a better way to warm up and ease into the year to come?'
We couldn't agree more! What better way to beat the winter blues and kick off 2016 than to get together with friends and family for a great day out, all the while raising money to provide support and care for traumatised children and to rebuild family homes? Aisha from Manchester told us why she is taking part,聽'The reason I wanted to participate in the Gaza Winter Walk is because I believe that no child should be devoid of happiness as is the case in Gaza and has been for some time now. By supporting this vital cause we can make such a huge difference to the lives and future of the Gazan children.'
The first event is in Glasgow this Saturday so what are you waiting for? Register now! 聽
