In November 2018, during the blessed month of Rabi ul-Awwal, children across the world came together to commemorate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (saw) in the É«É«Ñо¿Ëù Schools of Excellence. The event included eleven schools in Pakistan, Senegal and Nigeria.

The celebration was thoroughly enjoyed by hundreds of people – even children from other local schools shared in the fun. It just goes to show that your donations have created an amazing community of students, teachers and parents who are all part of a global network of É«É«Ñо¿Ëù schools. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at some of the beautiful memories you helped create.

All the schools in Pakistan decorated the stages to create a festive air. In the Halimah School in Wazirabad, Pakistan, the stage was decorated with flowers and candles to match the colourful outfits the students wore.
The stage in Islamabad was decorated with flags and banners, ready for the prize-giving ceremony.
One of the purposes of the event was to nurture love for the Prophet Muhammad (saw) among the students. In Nigeria, the children listened to motivational lectures about the Prophet (saw).
In Bagh, Pakistan, the audience listened to the recitation of the Qur'an and the Darood Sharif, beginning and ending the event on a reflective note.
Although the events had several things in common, such as prizes, speeches and Qur'an recitation, each event also had its own unique personality. In Lahore, Pakistan, flowery green flags filled the room, so the audience was decorated as well as the stage.
Children in Islamabad, Pakistan dressed up in bright clothes and wreaths before performing on stage, including Qur'an recitation and Naat singing.
At the Senegal school, Oustass Ousman Goudiaby gave an excellent speech about the birth of the Prophet (saw). This was followed by Qur'an and Hadith recitation by students from nursery to Class 6. They also sang songs about the Prophet (saw).
Children in Bagh, Pakistan took part in a competitive quiz about the life of the Prophet Muhammad (saw) . Well done to all of you!
In Peshawar, Pakistan, the children added a drum beat to their Naat performance, captivating their audience. The children in Senegal were also treated to a lively drum performance during their Zikr (religious songs).
In Nigeria, several guest lecturers were invited to the event to teach the children about the Prophet (saw) and how to follow in his footsteps, including the Chief Imam of Lagos State, Sheikh Sulaiman Oluwatoyin. The event was held at the National Arts Theatre in Lagos and other schools and madrasas were also invited.
To conclude the festivities, the children were presented with prizes, certificates or gifts, giving them a tangible memory from the beautiful day. These varied from Qur'an recitation prizes to certificates for winning the speech competition. Congratulations to all the winners!
In Nigeria, the event ended with brightly-coloured games and rides, including a bouncy castle and a train track, creating a funfair atmosphere for the delighted children.

Days like this remind us that our schools provide children with more than just an education - they create a loving and nurturing environment, developing their hearts, minds and souls. Your support creates happy memories for the children, which will stay with them for the rest of their lives. The smallest donation from you can contribute to this, and we are grateful for all your efforts.

We hope all the children had a wonderful time at the celebration and were inspired by stories of the Prophet Muhammad (saw)!

'Indeed, Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet. O you who believe! Send blessings on him and salute him with a worthy salutation'. [Qur'an, 33:56]
